Canada and transportation

As we all know, Canada is a big, vast country, Bigger in Area than Russia/former USSR,
Generally, the roads are good condition, the freeways (highways, motorways) and public transport is second to none. England needs to learn a few lessons from the canadian public transport system, Over here in England, public transport is notoriously slow, you could be waiting for a train or bus for up to and even over half a hour.  When it snows here in England, after 2 inch, Schools shut down, blockages and traffic jams on the motorways and the 'B' roads (major routs). we don't use snow ploughs here as there is no need for them, England gets what is considered a 'dusting' of snow, considerably less than Canada but because we are so unused to it the whole country shuts down, roads are and can be impassable with major traffic jams, when snow or ice are evident they will use the gritters to lay salt, even timesd when there is no snow, i have been stuck on the M6 and had to either call into work to say i am going to be late or call a company direct because of major roadworks.  I used to have to travel round most parts of britain, up to and Including Liverpool, and as far down as Bristol , often having to leave home early to get to work. When theres a traffic Jam, Motorcycles have the advantage where you can ride between cars and get though quicker. The midlands has 2 to 3 distinctive road networks, often interlinking, the M5, M6 and M6 Toll road but none guarentee getting to work or home early.
